Melanie Merle

Melanie Merle earned a BA in English and a BA in philosophy from Regis University, followed later by an MFA in creative writing through their Mile High MFA program. She was the recipient of the Francis J. Malacek Award for Excellence in Philosophy and the Robert J. O’Sullivan Award for Excellence in Writing during her time as an undergraduate student. Melanie works as a screenwriter for the Chickasaw Nation in Ada, Oklahoma. She has written scripts for a National Parks grant, celebrating the stories of tribal elders, as well as biographical videos highlighting inductees to the Chickasaw Hall of Fame. She has taught poetry workshops for various groups, including Tulsa's Women in Recovery, and the MUSED organization. Melanie is not even done yet.
